Why we exist

Public institutions and large enterprises in this region deserve software written with the same rigour as the systems they regulate. They rarely get it. Vendors arrive with a demo, leave with a deposit, and return three years later with a half-shipped platform that has been overrun by procurement, scope creep, and turnover. The institutions become the bag-holders.

888 Software Systems was founded to do this differently. We are a single-roof company that designs, ships, runs, and maintains the digital backbone of governments and enterprises — from sovereign identity and city-scale public safety to national payment rails and AI-assisted governance. We do not subcontract the engineering. We do not outsource the security. The team that wins the work is the team that ships it and the team that supports it on day five hundred.

How we are different

The first difference is staffing. Our principals come from MAANG-tier engineering organisations and from sovereign technology programmes that already shipped. We bring the standards we were held to elsewhere — code review, on-call, runbooks, post-mortems — and we apply them to environments that have never had them.

The second difference is sovereignty. Our infrastructure is in the UAE — AWS me-central-1 — by default. Customer data is encrypted at rest with customer-managed keys. Our admin signs in with the customer's identity provider, not ours. The audit log is tamper-evident and retained for seven years. We design for procurement officers as much as for end users.

The third difference is honesty about timelines. Most of our products are in pre-production today. We say so. We do not paste enterprise logos onto our case-study slides. We do not claim certifications we have not earned. When ISO 27001 lands, the badge appears on this page. Until then it is empty by design.

What we have shipped

888 Market — a super-app spanning shop, food, groceries, rides, flights, hotels, remittance, BNPL, exchange, property, logistics, ticketing, and the 888 Pay wallet — is in pilot today. The eth pass identity stack is in field-test with two government counterparties in the Horn of Africa. The eth police evidence-management ecosystem has begun a controlled rollout. eth surveillance is wiring its first city deployment. The national payment system is in technical conformance testing with a regulator. AI e-governance is at concept; we expect first pilot in 2027.

Where we go from here

The website you are reading now is the company's first credible public surface. It is built in the same shape as the products we sell: TypeScript end-to-end, Postgres for persistence, AWS UAE for residency, Anthropic Claude for intelligence, design tokens for brand, audit log for governance, and a content management system that lets the business change everything without engineering. Every screenshot you will ever see in our procurement pitches is generated from this same stack. That is intentional.
